Wallace's Week 6 Thursday Night NFL Winner and Why

We are entering week 6 of the NFL season after a very hectic week 5. We saw the Patriots dismantle the Lions and hold them to zero points who prior to their week 5 matchup in Foxborough averaged 35 points per game. The Miami Dolphins walked into MetLife and never transitioned from walking to running, getting absolutely shelled by Zach Wilson, Breece Hall, and a potent looking Jets offense. In light of this, we all have to acknowledge that the Dolphins were without Tua Tagovailoa and Teddy Bridgewater which left Skylar Thompson at the helm taking snaps for the first time in his career. Lastly we had two games come down to field goals, one missing wide right with the Eagles escaping the Cardinals leaving them as the only undefeated team left in the NFL, and one missing wide right with the Ravens being able to finish off a game against the division rival Bengals.

Now let's get into another week of action packed football. We kick off week 6 on Thursday night where we have the Washington Commanders heading to Solider field to take on the Chicago Bears. Both of these teams have been off to a rocky start but are looking to turn their seasons around. I'm gonna be honest with you guys this a very ugly game to open a exciting weekend of football. We have two teams that have abysmal offensive lines with the Bears allowing 3.6 sacks per game and the Commanders allowing 4 sacks per game. Due to the holes in these offensive lines these teams both struggle to generate any offense with both of them averaging less than 5.5 yards per play and this culminates in both these teams being very foreign when it comes to reaching the end zone with both these teams averaging less than 20 points a game, the Bears averaging 17.2 and the Commanders averaging a flat 18. Although the offensive woes have seem like they're never gonna end for either of these teams, there are some positives on the defensive side. Both the Bears and Commanders are top 5 in sacks with the Commanders averaging 4 per game and the bears averaging 3.6 sacks per game. So, to sum this all up this game is going to be a snooze fest. Two drowning offenses with mediocre defenses the fact that this game is getting a Thursday night slot is absurd. That being said the Commanders 4 game skid is coming to an end when they come to Chicago this Thursday night. The Commanders are the better team in this game being led behind a veteran Carson Wentz who is 45-43-1 all time in his career compared to Justin Fields who is a mere 4-11. Not only by the fact of having played about six times the amount of games as him, Wentz' record reflects he is just the better quarterback. Lastly, out of the last four matchups between these teams the Commanders have won three of them, two of which have been on the Bears home turf and in two out of those last three they have scored forty plus. The Bears will be hibernating this Thursday in Chicago and it's going to all Commanders all night long.
