I know I haven't done a NCAAF blog in a while but I'm back with a huge Big 12 matchup where the #4 TCU Horned Frogs will be taking on the #18 ranked Texas Longhorns in Austin. These are two teams that have been very strong seasons and are both looking to prove something this year, so I expect this to be a very entertaining divisional matchup. My last two predictions for college football did not go as planned with my first pick being a tough fought matchup between Baylor and West Virginia but Baylor unfortunately did not come out on top and then my second one I was completely wrong with LSU absolutely dismantling Ole Miss, so hopefully this week I can bounce back with a correct prediction of this game.
We have reached week 11 of the college football season and this is the time of year where the playoff push starts and teams really start making their presence known. TCU has been doing that all year leading to them being ranked number 4 in the country which means as of now they would be in the college football playoff meanwhile Texas has been fighting all year for a ranking almost beating Alabama and having a few other key wins to bring them into the top 20. Although TCU is 9-0 I think Texas is going to knock them off this week and end their undefeated season. First off, on both sides of the ball Texas is much more efficient in the redzone being 22nd in offensive redzone efficiency and 27th in defensive redzone efficiency meanwhile TCU is 82nd in offensive redzone efficiency and 119th in defensive redzone efficiency so Texas dominates them in this category. Texas also has a much stronger offensive line only allowing 1.1 sacks per game in comparison to TCU's O line which allows 2.1 sacks per game so hopefully this Texas offense and Bijan Robinson can generate a lot of offensive against this TCU defense. Also, although within the last 5 years TCU has gotten the better of Texas more times than Texas has gotten the better of them, Texas beat them last year on the road and I think they're going to do that again this year on their home turf. #CollegeFootball #Gameday #Longhorns #Big12 #Texas
